November 2010

So 3 1/2 months after my last post, begins the best part of the fall (after Halloween) – NaNoWriMo.

First, sorry about the lack of anything on this blog over the summer. I must admit that I go through dry periods where I really have nothing to say on here. But that’s likely to change over the coming weeks.

Today is the first day of NaNoWriMo, and while I’m not as excited about it as I was last year I’m still going to give it my all. I’ll be working on a new novel thus far titled “Memories of Mist”. The short pitch goes something like this: “In a world where animals give magic and robots steal souls, four people awaken with no memories of who they are or how they became entangled in a war that may destroy everything.”

Thus far I have worked out the opening scene and the ending and I’m hoping my characters motivation will help me figure out how they get from A to B. Don’t get me wrong I have a general sense about how the story is suppose to unfold, but who am I to get in the way of the muse. 🙂

Also, on November 4 & 5, I’ll be doing a blog panel with Lynda Williams on her blogReality Skimmingcalled “Work, Family and Writing: How to Balance Life with Art”. It’s sure to be an interesting topic and I’ll cross post my contributions onto my blog for all you lovely readers to view.

Other than that my November will hopefully be dedicated mostly to writing. I have a few home renovations to finish, Christmas to plan for, and a new employee to train, but I’m optimistic that I’ll have a shiny new novel come December 1st.

Cheers!

PS: You can now check out the status of all my full length projects in the sidebar of myUpcoming Workpage! I love progress bars.
