		<description>Connie Willis writes many female leads.  Not everything she writes is pure Sci-Fi but much of it is.  Off the top of my head I can recommend Doomsday Book, but there are many others by Willis.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;That said, you&#039;re right.  There is a dearth of good female sci-fi characters.</description>
